Trekking to the Mount Everest Base Camp in Nepal is in many ways like visiting a real mountain museum. Nowhere else on earth is there such a dense concentration of mountains of such stature. Four out of ten of the world’s highest peaks are here. Basically, you will be breathing and eating mountains throughout.
In the backdrop of this grandeur, you will find the Himalayan Tahrs as tame as your domestic goats, and the iridescent Himalayan Monal more trusting than your barn chicken.
And to top it all off, the amazing Sherpa hospitality comes second to none. In the contemplative adventure that is the Everest Base Camp Trek, you will miss nothing, not even the internet.

DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN KATHMANDU
▪ One of our representatives will meet you at the Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer you to your hotel.
▪ After check-in you can rest and recover from your international flight. Make sure to get some sun to help with the jet lag.
▪ Kathmandu is also a good place to rent and buy trekking gear for EBC.
▪ Towards the evening before dinner, there will be a trek briefing with your operation manager and trekking guide.
O/N: Kathmandu (1,400m/4,600ft) | Hotel Marshyangdi or similar.
DAY 2: KATHMANDU - LUKLA - PHAKDING
▪ Exciting times ahead as today is the day we take that flight to Lukla (2,850m/9,350ft) either from Kathmandu or Manthali Airport (475m/1,555ft).
▪ If flights take off from Manthali, we will provide private transfer to Ramechhap Airport at no additional cost.
▪ Once at the Lukla Airport, we will breathe fresh mountain air, hand over our bags to the porters, and start our trek.
▪ Today we walk for around 3-4 hours through villages, forests, and some exhilaratingly long bridges to reach Phakding both for lunch and overnight stay.
O/N: Phakding (2,620m/8,600ft) | Sherpa Guide Lodge or similar.
Note about Lukla Flights: Since 2018, flights to Lukla during high season operate from Manthali Airport at Ramechhap. This is because of runway congestion at Kathmandu airport and unpredicable mountain weather. As such, chances are, we will have to drive 4-5 hours from Kathmandu to board our flight. On the bright side, gone are the days when travellers would get stuck for days on end due to flight cancellations. However, please note that flight cancellations do happen. When they do, we will either stay the night at Manthali to wait it out, take a helicopter to Lukla, or drive to Tham Danda and start the trek from there.
DAY 3: PHAKDING - NAMCHE BAZAAR
▪ Today is the day of the long bridges and we will cross at least six of those today, The most epic one is of course the famous Hillary bridge right before the climb to Namche.
▪ We will hopefully start the day with beautiful view of Thamserku from Bengkar. From here we will walk through the sweet smell of pine forests of the Dudh koshi valley to reach Jorsalle in 3-4 hours for lunch.
▪ An epic view of the valley below, first view of Mount Everest, the longest bridge in Khumbu, and a steep climb waits for us after lunch.
▪ Godspeed, we will be at Namche Bazaar within three hours.
▪ If we have some juice left, we will take an evening walk to the national park headquarter to see the alpenglow sunset.
O/N: Namche (3,440m/11,300ft) | Khumbu Lodge or similar.
DAY 4: NAMCHE | Acclimatization Hike
▪ We will wake up to some beautiful mountain scenery today: Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kusum Kanguru, Kongde, Tengi Ragi Tau, and of course the holy Khumbila.
▪ It is a good place to download the Peak Finder app (Android / iOS) as mountain views are going to get more epic from here and wifi is going to get weaker. ;)
▪ After breakfast at Namche, we will walk for around one and a half hours to get to the iconic Hotel Everest View at Syangboche. Established more than fifty years ago even before the airport at Lukla, it truly is a peice of art.
▪ After coffee with the mountains at the hotel, we will explore the twin Sherpa villages of Khumjung and Khunde.
▪ After our acclimatization walk, we go back to Namche to spend the night.
▪ Namche is also a good place to brush up on health and safety issues while trekking in the Everest Region.
O/N: Namche (3,440m/11,300ft) | Khumbu Lodge or similar.
DAY 5: NAMCHE - TENGBOCHE - DEBOCHE

DAY 8: DINGBOCHE - THUKLA - LOBUCHE
▪ Walk past some amazing mountain sceneries to have lunch at Thukla right at the mouth of the Khumbu Glacier. (3 hours)
▪ Settle in for the night at Lobuche (3 hours). This is another spot where you have to take stock of your physical well being with regards to altitude. If you are not feeling too well, let us know. We can help you with the best course of action.

▪ This is another long day. From Pheriche, it will take you approximately 4 hours to get to Phungi Tenga where you will have lunch for the day.

GROUP DEPARTURES
HoneyGuide runs group departures every Monday and Friday during the high-season. It is an excellent way to meet new people from around the world while enjoying out of this world views. In order to secure a spot for one of those departures, all you need to do it to put in a USD 100 or INR 8,000 deposit, and one of our travel cosultants will contact you for additional information. We often get asked why there is such a price difference between Indians and non-Indians. There are two reason for it:
- Services like airfare and permits are cheaper for Indian nationals in Nepal.
- The travel package for Indians doesn't include meals while for others, we provide full board packages.

We completed the itinerary almost exactly as planned. We reached Chukung exatly as planned but did not need the reserve day there and left one day early. We also skipped the lodge in Dingboche and continued directly to Deboche the same day. That means from there on we were 2 days ahead of the plan, which was no problems for the lodges that followed. Only the Buddha Lodge in lukla needed a bit longer to confirm the booking, but in the end accepted it. I would like to thank you very much for the organisation of flights, lodges and especially the Porter Guide. We really enjoyed the company of Pancha Rai, and we hope he did enjoy our company.

Overall we had a fantastic experience! Working with Honey Guide was great because it was very convienent, easy, and straight forward. I communicated with them via what's app to help schedule my flights to Lukla as well as to change my flight. We ended up finishing the EBC trek a few days early, and after a few messages back and forth in what's app, our flight was changed and I got an almost immediate email to confirm our new tickets. They are efficient, fast and easy to work with. Their pricing is also fair. Highly recommend!

Honeyguide was amazingly helpful for my first trip to Nepal and I’m so glad I found them. They booked my tickets from Kathmandu to Lukla easily on WhatsApp. Gave then credit card and passport info and it was done. They were easily reachable to answer questions and guide my travel. They even were able to change my return flight one day earlier on short notice. And I used the Honeyguide app everyday to guide my 3-passes trek. Thanks Honeyguide. You are all awesome!!!!

We used honeyguide apps for our flights and transfers. The Whatsapp connection helped us so much as we had to make some adhoc changes and had very tight connections . The service we received was second to none , giving advice with weather , timing changes and even getting a slow driver to set off even when he decided he would wait an extra 3 hours. Honey guide apps was a 5 star service and miles above the rest. They were always in contact with both flights providers and transportation providers. Without them we would have for sure missed our flight home from ktm. Thank you honeyguide team for making our EBC trip amazing safe and smooth. Thanks Jannik,Alex Caro and Nicole

We have travelled to Nepal for the EBC trek and used Honeyguideapps for the return flight tickets to Lukla from Kathmandu, including van transport to Ramechap (Mantali). Also, we booked a lodge in Phakding and a hotel in Namche Bazarm. The service Honeyguideapps provides is excellent being online on Whatsapp for whatever question we had. Also, they provided the detaila on the van transport on time not to mention that the driver was great. We would use their services any time again.

On my March 2019 solo EBC trek I book my flights from Kathmandu to Lukla and back through Honey Guide. There was absolutely no issue with the etickets or confrontations numbers. Everything went smoothly and Summit Air even allowed me to fly to Kathmandu one day early. Honey Guide delivered as promised !

I booked my flights to Lukla through Honey guide for my trek to EBC in October. At first there was some issue with the booking, however when I reached out to them, the response was very prompt. After I talked to my bank, I was able to process the flight tickets. Later, I had to shift my flights a day earlier. And during that too I found Daksina to be very helpful. Also, the price point is also a big plus.

The website looked like a scam to me at first because of the CRAZY prices they have! I’m sure everyone will have that impression. But it was sweet to find out that they have direct bookings available. I had all my arrangements made from them. I needed a guide and they help me get in touch with Sonam. Sonam was extremely friendly and made sure I got everything I needed. Also took me to a momo place in Kathmandu. He made the trip for me!

We did over Everest Base Camp and Kalapathar trek in November end 2018. EBC has been the most challenging and beautiful mountain experience of my life! Made all of my flight and hotel arrangements online through HoneyGuide. I came across their website when I was searching for good articles on google a few months before the trek. And used it to select my own hotel in every stops. I had no idea that one can even do that! It took me some two days to hear back from the hotels but that wasn’t a problem because booking.com only had accommodations listed for limited places. Dakshina from HoneyGuide was generous enough to help us shift our reservation for the next day without having to cancel our booking with the hotel staff from the next stop because we had to stay an extra day in Lobuche as I had developed bad headache. Thanks to the expensive but helpful Wifi in Everest.

I always wanted to come to Nepal after I saw pictures of my Nepali friend who goes trekking in the Himalayas everytime he goes to Nepal. He was the one who suggested me to use Trekking in Nepal App since I wanted to go to Everest Base Camp trek alone without any Tour operator or guides. Downloading the App was the best thing. I actually didn’t have to use many resources to plan my trek and the app guided me to their website where they allow you to book tea houses directly (which was a big surprise). Booked my tea houses from their Everest Base Camp template and coordinated with HoneyGuide who suggested me good lodges to stay from personal reference and that was amazing. Would love to use HoneyGuide on my next visit to Nepal. I wish to come back in 2022 to do Manaslu with my friends. Hope you guys have bookings available for Manaslu area by that time.
