Trail condition: The path is mostly well marked though there might be difficulties during the glacier crossing past the Cho La Pass.
Accommodation: During the trip you will stay in lodges with great facilities and warm Sherpa hospitality. Most of the lodges are equipped with WiFi, hot shower and extensive food menu. However, finding lodges can be challenging if you don’t book in advance.
Risks: The trek is considered to be physically challenging due to AMS as you climb to an altitude above 5,000 m. However, you will spend extra days at Namche, and Pheriche to help with acclimatization. Also, consult the locals before attempting the Cho La pass.
Route Variations: It is possible to add a little variety to this trek by exiting the valley of Gokyo Lakes through Renjo La Pass. You can also do this route in a clockwise direction, i.e. Gokyo Valley first and Everest Base Camp later. However, it is not recommended because of risk of AMS.
Notes: Please note that this is a self-guided trek. Hence, you can customize this trek to your preference. Feel free to add lodges, side trips and sightings to your liking. So, what are you waiting for?
