November, along with December, are the two driest months of the year in the Everest Region. Except for a few odd showers, the skies will generally stay clear. With around 25 completely sunny days, you will get plenty of sunshine. The ground is also usually free of snow and ice. It is also worthwhile to note that the rainy season that used to end by September has now started to stray a bit to October, which makes November even more attractive.

Evenings are chilly, especially at higher altitudes. Also, remember that by mid-November, daylight hours have gotten noticeably shorter. But all in all, November is undoubtedly the best month to do the Everest Base Camp Trek.

Three High Passes of Everest in November

November is the best month to do the High Passes of Everest. Period. Of course, it isn’t going to be a walk in the park, and an experienced guide, crampons, and a fair degree of preparation are still essential. Low temperature at high altitudes and shorter days are other possible factors to consider.

How crowded is the Everest Base Camp Trek in November?

With around 15 percent of trekkers, November is one of the most popular months. Even though it is less popular than October and April, given that most of the traffic is in the first half of the month, it doesn’t feel any different from those peak months. 2018 saw around 7,500 trekkers enter the Everest Region in November.

Lukla Flights in November

It is highly likely that for the first half of the month, flights to Lukla will take off from Ramechhap Airport. This will mean that you will have to drive 4 hours from Kathmandu to Ramechhap Airport to catch your flight to Lukla. For the second half, flights might operate from Kathmandu Airport.

Given that flights operate from Ramechhap for the most part and the weather is generally clear this time of the year, chances of cancellations are really low.

Hotels and Prices in Everest Base Camp Trek in November

All the hotels will remain open throughout the month. A few might start to close at the end of the month, but you will not be able to tell. Given the traffic in the first half of the month, it is highly advisable to book hotels in advance. This is especially an issue for independent trekkers as hotels tend to give preference to larger organized groups.

Prices are generally uniform in the Khumbu throughout the year. Even though you might be able to snag a discount here and there, the busy November season is not the time.

Attractions in the Everest Region in November

In addition to the unobstructed mountain views, November is also the month of the famous Mani Rimdu festival at Tengboche. The festival can fall both in October or early November. The dates for the renowned festival are:
