DESCRIPTION Edit

Best Time to Go: Anytime except for July-August Entry Point: Lukla/Flight from Kathmandu Exit Point: Lukla/Flight to Kathmandu

Trail outline: Your journey will start from the small airstrip at Lukla and wind through forests to Namche and then to the alpine landscape of Dingboche and Everest Base Camp. The trail is very well defined and is littered with mani walls and prayer flags. ;)

Accommodation: During the trek, you will stay in lodges with great facilities and warm Sherpa hospitality. Here you will discover a unique experience of being in a village caught in a time wrap but with Wi-Fi and hot showers. However, finding lodges during peak season (October) can be challenging if you don’t book in advance.

Risks: The trek is considered to be physically challenging due to the altitude (above 5,000 meters) and risk of AMS. To minimize the risks you will gain altitude gradually and take rest days at Namche and Dingboche to acclimatize.

Route Variations: It is possible to add a little variety to this trek by staying at Pheriche on your way up and staying at Dingboche on your way down. On your way up, Pheriche is the recommended stop, especially if you are feeling the altitude, as it is 90m lower than Dingboche and houses the Himalayan Rescue Association Aid Post.

Notes: Please note that this is a self-guided trek. Hence, you can customize this trek to your preference. Feel free to add lodges, side trips and sightings to your liking. So, what are you waiting for?
