Long Tailed Minivet
Long Tailed Minivet (Pericrocotus ethologus) is a wildlife & flora sighting recorded around Phedi, Dhampus, Pothana.

- Scientific name
- Pericrocotus ethologus
- Local name
- Lampuchhre Ranichari
- Category
- Wildlife & Flora
The Nepali name of this bird 'Rani Chari' which roughly translates to 'The Queen's bird' does more justice to its flamboyance than its English namesake. Unlike other species in which either both sexes look alike or one of them is noticeably more colorful than the other, both male and female minivets are different yet striking. The males are a deep crimson while the females are bright yellow and together they make quite an amazing sight especially when flying together.
