DESCRIPTION

Good Time to Go: Any time of the year. Entry Point: Jomsom/ Bus from Kathmandu OR Flight from Pokhaa Exit Point: Jomsom /Bus to Kathmandu OR Flight to Pokhara

Trail condition: The trails are mostly well defined and marked. The section between Jomsom, Lubra, and Ranipauwa can be confusing at times. Looks for the Blue-and-White signs which mark the side-trails in the Annapurna Region.

Accommodation: There are lodges throughout the route: Some might say more than is actually necessary. Other than the peak trekking season in October, July-August is also a busy time in this part of the Himalayas because of the Hindu devotees.

Risks: AMS can be an issue especially if a person is driving directly to Muktinath from Beni. Proper acclimatization is necessary, diamox is not.

Route Variations: After visiting the Muktinath Area, it is possible to return via the quieter route of Jhong as is suggested in the itinerary. It is also possible to return through Jharkot. While the village of Jharkot is beautiful, if you take this route, you will have to brave the busy road traffic between Kagbeni and Muktinath.

Notes: Please note that this is a self-guided trek. Hence, you can customize this trek to your preference. So, what are you waiting for?
