While most cuckoos are generally very hard to see, this one in particular is a real nuisance when it comes to sighting. However, it has a rather unmistakable call, a fluty and very resonant ho...po..po...po. For those who know the call of the hoopoe, it is very similar to that but more resonant and also while hoopoes are found near cultivation, the Oriental Cuckoo is a bird of well- wooded country.
