These smallest of the big cats are definitely the most arboreal of them all. They are capable of walking head down along a tree trunk and even walk on a branch upside down. They also have the largest canines with respect to their skull size and are perhaps the closest living relative of the saber-toothed cat. Endangered, these cats are on the decline everywhere with fewer than ten thousand remaining in the wild. They are also one tough cat to breed in captivity as males frequently get very aggressive towards females.
