SATTALE - Seven ladders to a cliff
- 1,500 meters
The place is called Sattale which literally means 'seven storeys' because traversing the rock formation there would in earlier times involve seven rope ladders. This is not the case nowadays but it certainly requires a good climb.
To the north of this settlement, there is a place called Kamero Gouda which was so named not because of the mud type but because of Slave Centre. Folklore has it that this region used to be under the Ghale rulers and whoever would want to pass through this area would have to do so under the feet of the Ghale ruler. To circumvent this situation many Gurungs used to take the much more difficult route via Namun Bhanjyang.
