MACHHAPUCHHRE BASE CAMP (MBC) - Base Camp for an Unclimbable Peak

Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC) has the distinction of being the base camp for a mountain that can't be climbed. Most people will tell you that it is off limits because it is considered holy. Whether the holiness is historically based or a recent construct is however debatable. Either way, it doesn't take away anything from the stunning location of the base camp. For the first time in the trek you will feel like you are among the mountains. You will also see another side of the beautiful Machhapuchhre from here. There is also a German Metereological Station here just before you reach the lodges.
