KURUNG - The ghost village

You can easily miss this little village of Kurung and we don't blame you. This little village comes just before the drop to the Ghatte Khola and the few lodges here have their address as Thanchok which is why it could be confusing to many trekkers. You won't find the name Kurung in many 'guidebooks' either which clearly are not updated and basically, suck. The lodge owners might have assigned the address as Thanchok because of this very reason. There are only a few houses here and to many this won't even look like a separate village but the reality is, Kurung exists.
