The 'thanti' at the end of this village signifies that you have now left the
cultural sphere of the Thakalis of lower Mustang and are now entering the
cultural spheres of the Magars. In Magar language 'thanti' means a rest spot
for travelers and Kokhethanti is indeed little more than that. While it must
have seen some traffic when trekkers would end their walk in Beni, the handful
of lodges there now see no traffic at all thanks to the motor road.
