JHULE - Your place to nap and feast!

  • 2,185 meters

Your legs might be hurting; your body might be begging for you to take a break from this never-ending hike. But tell them to resist the pain; tell them Jhule is waiting for them to touch its soil. Be desperate to reach this place! A down path from the main road of Chisapani to Sundarijal takes you to Jhule. The path is narrow but it soon introduces you to this huge field of warmth and sunshine. Stand atop on any one of the hillocks, and enjoy a splendid view of Nagarkot. Let's see what other places you can spot! Once you're done sightseeing, let the field accommodate you for a small nap. Now, your stomach might be grumbling as well. And look at you, just at the best place in town for a mouthwatering meal! There aren't many places to fill your stomach at Jhule, though: Just two, actually. Pick the lodge you see standing right on top of the last hill you see while descending if you want to try for a classic Nepali meal ('Daal Bhaat Tarkari'). The villager will serve you with fresh vegetables and thick pulses with ample amount of rice - Bon Appétit! However, if you want to try a different menu, hold your hunger and walk awhile until you come to the end of Jhule to spot a modern edged organic farm. Feast there! And the best part about this small village between Chisapani and Bhotechaur is, hands down, the humble and humourous villagers. Bet there won't be a time you'll be bored!
