DUBEY CHAUR - An eye contact with Swayambhu.
- 1,820 meters
When you walk and you walk along the same old tall trees and narrow trails of Nagarjun National Park, it can get very monotonous. And that is just when you will be blessed with Dubey Chaur - the sunlit open ground that is perfect for resting and viewing a portion of the Kathmandu Valley! Dubey Chaur is a small grassland that you will come towards in the middle of your hike to the Jamacho peak. It is mostly sunny here because no trees interrupt the perpetual sunlight. The tall and thick dried grasses reflect the sunlight to give the field a golden appearance. These grasses are known as Babiyo Grasses and are used to make ropes! In fact, this small field has got its name from these grasses itself: Dubey (means 'hay') and Chaur (means 'field). Do, take a break here, it's wide, warm and well, comforting! Gobble some snacks and quench your thirst resting on the wooden benches or the golden grass-bed, just don't forget to throw the wrappers inside the cylindrical dustbin provided at the corner!
