DANAKYU - The river of jackals...Not!
- 2,220 meters
Danakyu emerged as an important village after the landslide disasters in Bagarchhap, as many villagers and lodges shifted here. Since then the settlement has been increasing. There are some good lodges available here; keep in mind that the next lodge will only be available after a 1 hour 50 minutes climb to the village of Timang. This place also has a safe drinking water station and the price is Rs 40/ltr we last checked. Here, the Danakyu river joins the mighty Marshyangdi river from the south. The Danakyu river is also known as Shyal Khola (river of the jackals) but we couldn't find out any reason behind it.
