Daadagaon, also known by the name of the mountain village, is a small village
situated high above the Kathmandu Valley in Shivapuri National Park. Mostly
inhabited by the Tamang community, this little place never fails to impress
the visitors with its stupendous views and breezy atmosphere.
Although there are some ruins of the earthquake here even today as families
continue to live in the temporary tin sheds and incomplete mud-brick houses,
you'll observe how the people here are socially knit together living a life of
simplicity!
In fact, most of the people here are involved in small-scale agriculture. With
that being said, this small village is also known for its famous barley and
millet wine- a local wine that's traditionally made by the people there! A sip
of the freshly prepared local wine and the feels of the breezy air flowing
through your cheeks- what a perfect way to get refreshed! But wait, what if
you're craving for non-alcoholic drinks and some good food?
Well, Daadagaun has a few lodges (two in number and a few under construction
at the moment) that serves you with mouth-watering meal and drinks to tackle
your hunger and enjoy the splendid views. Also, note that you will have to
feed your growling stomach in Daadagaon itself because you will not find
lodges ahead until you reach Narayanthan. So better gobble up your food here
and get ready for the interesting trail that lays ahead!
