Peregrine Falcons are the fighter jets of the bird kingdom. They are the fastest animals in the world with dive speeds recorded at 389 kmph (242 mph)! In Nepal, there is the resident subspecies and also a migratory one which comes during winters. These are birds of open countries and even urban areas. They have broad and pointed wings and a very powerful and swift flight and are much sought after for falconry. Peregrine falcons mate for life and nest in cliffs, old nests of other birds and even on top of buildings.
