Himalaya Cypress is a large and attractive conifer of the western Himalayas. It has a pyramidal crown and rather droopy branches. Its leaves are very small and flowers are small and yellow. Its cones are easily identifiable and are green when unripe becoming brown and woody with age. These trees scale up to 35 m when fully mature. Its timber is considered good and is used for buildings and bridges. The woods from these trees are particularly strong and hence the timber is used for the construction of bridges, buildings and furniture. The wood can be used for fuel, and is often burnt as an incense in temples.
