Ground shrews are small mole-like mammals but not exactly a mole. And they are shrewd; they are intolerant of rats and cockroaches and help keep away these vermins if one decides to domesticate it. It has got a loud squeaking cry which is heard especially when they are frightened. They have a long pointed snout, small eyes, rounded ears and body covered with soft fur whose color is gray or tipped with brown. The feet of these cute looking animals are designed for climbing and digging. As the Macho man says, "Dig it!". That was way out of context but true nonetheless. They also have a strong musky smell about them.
