Eurasian Hobby

Hobbies are one of the swiftest falcons and can sometimes be seen chasing after swifts! Here in Nepal, we have both the resident and the migratory kind and both are very vocal. The are easily recognized from their long pointed wings and fast flights. Their face has streaks of black mustache starting from their yellow beak. They fly with powerful flights and make dashing swoops for birds. One interesting observation is that pair of hobbies passes food to each other in mid-air displaying amazing acrobatics. Another interesting thing about these guys is that they regularly feed on dragonflies and other insects too.
