The Black Bulbul is a bird of forest and is only very rarely found around human habitation. They generally go around in large flocks except during the breeding season and are generally a noisy and cacophonous bunch. Their frequent aerial forays for insects remind one of flycatchers are the behavior is rather atypical for bulbuls.
