Thorung Peak 6201m

Thorung Peak is an offshoot of the Khatung Kang and lies to the northeast of Khatung Kang. These two peaks are very close by and so many people may consider these mountains to be one. To be clear, the peak you see from the Thorung-La towards the south is the Thorung peak. The climb to the peak should be within the grasps of anyone with a moderate climbing experience but it shouldn't be taken as a "piece of cake" either. Avalanches are a constant threat and you should have a sound knowledge of what time of the day to climb. Some of the trekkers who do the Thorung-La opt for the Thorung peak as well and take away the bragging rights of having completed the Annapurna circuit as well as climbing a mountain on the way. It does sound a little tempting for adventurers.
