This most climbed trekking peak of Annapurna region sits somewhere in the middle of the Annapurna sanctuary. This location means that the view from Tharpu Chuli is breathtaking as you get to see panoramic view of Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Roc Noir, Annapurna I, Gangapurna, Annapurna III, Annapurna V, Machhapuchhre and of course Singhu Chuli or fluted peak. The reason this peak is the most climbed is because of its easier nature and the various ridges from where the climb is possible. This peak can be climbed either from the North-West ridge, South-East ridge or from the South-West face. If you are wondering why the name Tent peak then you will probably not be surprised to know that it resembles a tent from the south-west face. The name tent peak was coined by Jimmy Roberts during his reconnaissance for the 1957 British Machhapuchhre expedition. The mountain was first climbed by members of the Japanese Annapurna South Expedition from Kyoto University in 1964, led by Dr. Haruo Higuchi.
