Solar Cookers

With the aim of substituting the traditional ways of cooking with fire woods which has adverse effects on the vegetation and health of the cook itself, several NGOs and INGOs with assistance from the Nepal government have been promoting the use solar cookers. The proper name for these cookers is parabolic solar cooker and is very useful in the regions where abundant sunlight is received throughout the day. Seeing the positives of this cooker many people have started to use it and Nepal government is doing it's bit to encourage the cooker's use by subsidizing the cost. Unfortunately, in many places, these cookers rather than being used for its primary purpose, is used to dry clothes.
