They are very similar to common mongoose in appearance but yet different. These guys are small in size and have a shorter tail. The differ from the Common Mongoose in that they are olive brown, gold flecked with soft silky fur. They live in holes burrowed by itself and they are seen hunting for food in bushes, hedges and in cultivated fields. Its presence can usually be detected by the worn tracks it leaves along the hedges and it uses the same path day after day. It feeds on anything it can kill like rats, mice, snakes, scorpions, centipedes, wasps and insects of all kinds. And like its larger relative, it is useful in to rid a house of vermin.
