Skulls of Blue Sheep are said to have apotropaic qualities which is why they are hung outside the entrance of buildings in hopes that it will fend off bad spirits and negativity. In some areas of Mustang, the skull of sheep is sewn in a cotton cloth and surrounded by diamond shaped webs of threads tied to cross frames. These are known as Namgo. The skulls aren't always necessarily hanged as described above. In some areas only the skull is hanged without any decorations. Basically, any skull hung on the entrance gates are to fend off bad spirits, doesn't matter if the skull is a Yak's, a blue sheep's or your's.
