Skink are the bridge that joins lizards with snakes. While most of them have ill developed limbs, there are some that don't have limbs at all. The Sikkim Skink as the name suggests is an Eastern Himalaya species that keeps to damp patches of light forests. Right up to its western limit at Jaljala Pass, south of Mt. Dhaulagiri, these guys are the commonest forest lizard.
