This one happens to be featured in a famous Nepali poem by Parijaat title "Siris ko phool", which translates to flower of a Siris. These are mainly found in the western sub-Himalayan tract and have rather sparse branching. The bi-pinnate leaves are long and are divided into between 6 and 12 pairs of pinnae wherreas the bark is scaly and has horizontal wrinkles. The flowers that appear in April are rose-pink which is why in Nepali its called Rato Siris; Rato translates to red. The wood is mainly used for furniture.
