Behold the 8th highest mountain of the world, Manaslu! The name Manaslu is derived from the sanskrit word Manasa and is translated to "Mountain of the Spirit". It lies about 40 mile east of Annapurna and is also known as killer mountain as it is difficult to climb. But despite the difficulty a team of brave Japanese souls which included T. Imanishi and Gyalzen Norbu conquered Manaslu in 1956. Manaslu Himal, as it is popularly known among trekkers, provides fantastic views of the snow-covered mountains of the Himalayas and allows close interaction with the different ethnic groups who live in hill villages scattered along the trek route. If the skies are clear and the mountain is not shy then you can view this mountain even from the Annapurna circuit to its east.
