Despite being a forest bird, Long-tailed broadbill is very sociable and loves traveling in large noisy parties. They give loud shrill repeated piercing 'pieu-wieuw-wieuw-wieuw' call which makes them easily distinguishable. In addition, it has a distinctive broadbill and white wing patch. Adult long- tailed broadbills have a beautiful blue crown on their head regardless of their lazy look. One can frequently hear them calling from March to August as during their breeding season they become very noisy.
