Lemon Pansy

This species of butterfly is seen to have a habit of wandering which makes it pop up just about everywhere. The whole body is brown with numerous black and yellow eyespots on the upperside of its wings. The underside is found to be dull brown, sketched with murky wavy lines and filled with spots of varying shades of brown. As the wet and dry season arrives, shape and colors vary distinctively. During the wet season, the markings are more vivid and the shape of the wing is much more rounded. And the dry season brings off-springs that have obscure markings on the underside and edges of wings are more jagged. Lemon Pansy can be observed basking in the sun with its wings open like a man on his day out in a beach and this changes depending upon season to helps it camouflage against predators.
