King Surendra owned the Nagarjun forest back in the Rana Regime. So, many things in the National Park belong or belonged to the Royal family. Some of them are: Summer Palace: You can see a crossroad in the Bichpau trail in which the taking right is prohibited. The right will lead you to the Summer Palace. Sadly, it is a military zone now and visitors are not allowed there. So, you can only see the black-topped road that leads to the Summer Palace. Old Hunting post: If you walk along the dirt road from the Fulbari gate, you will see a small house led by a flight of stairs to your right. It used to be a hunting post. Hunters would ask the King what he'd like to have in his meal. The King would name an animal. And, the hunters would hunt for it. But, now the old hunting post is one of the National Park's office. Pheasants: Some Pheasants were gifted by the King of Switzerland to Late King Birendra in 2048 B.S. You can see some of them in the Pheasant cage if you walk along the Bichpau trail. Wild Boars: A Shah King imported some Wild Boars at Shivapuri- Nagarjun forest. The Wild Boars bred and exponentially increased their number. Now, they are heavily populated in the Shivapuri- Nagarjun forest.
