Famous for its beauty and rarity, the Kaiser-i-hind, also called the emperor of India, is a rare species of swallowtail butterfly that you would want to take home. Colored in shimmering greens, bright yellows, and delicate blacks, Teinopalpus imperialis is a visual treat. These fast and powerful fliers are found in Nepal, Myanmar, northern Vietnam, Sichuan province of China and in the Eastern Himalayas (West Bengal, Meghalaya, Assam, Sikkim, and Manipur) of India. Kaiser-i-hind loves to hover around the tree-top level, but during strong sunlight or overcast, the male descends down to low altitude and behave like they are stoned (remaining so still that they even can be caught by hand), whereas the females still fly.
