Imjatse/Island Peak 6189m

It was named Island Peak in 1951 for it seems like an island jutting out of a sea of ice. It is the most popular peak in the Himalayas and is usually scaled in preparation for higher goals. Actually it's first ascent in 1956 by a Swiss team was also a training exercise in preparation for Everest and Lhotse.
