Himalayan Snowcock is a bird of the high Himalayas commonly found perching over cliff edges and steep slopes. Its upper wing and back are gray comprising of chestnut colored feathers. Its eyes are brown surrounded by yellowish outer layer while its bill is dark gray. They search widely for food by digging with their beaks or legs. Flying comes to them with difficulty and they prefer to walk. And whenever this bird decides to fly, it climbs up a ridge and then jumps off not very different from a base jumper. This bird feeds on leaves, shoots, berries and whatever insect it can find.
