Henbane is a foul smelling wooly herb with many branches. This plant has large green leaves that are lanceolate shaped and have pinnate veins. Flowers are seen in large yellow trumpet-like structure filled with dark stripes. This plant is very poisonous as all parts of the plant are toxic. Symptoms of ingesting toxic element are impaired vision, convulsion and coma or death from heart or respiratory failure. However, seeds of this plant are applied locally in pain. This plant is used medically as a sedative or a pain-killer. One more use of this is that scattering its leaves in the house will drive that lurking mouse away from your house.
