Common Nawab

This species is distinguished by its peculiar looking wings that display turquoise and creamy yellow pattern with black margins on the underside. The upperside has light brown margins with white patterns. Females are very hard to get a glimpse of as they seem to live happily in the canopy and rarely come down. They have a strong flight and they run away as soon as they sense danger. Male are more commonly observed while consuming mineralised moisture from damp sand, gravel or road surface.
