Mynah along with the House Crow share the distinction of being the most common bird in Nepal. Mynah is perceived to be perky, self-confident and ready to wage war even on a snake or a mongoose. These birds are strong because they live together and attack together. Also, these birds collect and roost together in groves of trees after the noisiest quarreling evening they take up places and quieten for the night. Mynahs hunt for grasshoppers and locusts which are an added benefit for farmers. Many times, old nests of kite, crow or squirrel are taken over as nests. And when they build their own nest, it will probably be on bough of trees.
