All the species in this family can be characterized with a pattern (like that of Nike logo or a boomerang) of translucent green, turquoise or yellow on their wings. Since their wings are almost always erect, they are famously picturized as flotilla boats with their sails in the green sea. Hindwings feature a red mark on the underside and series of blue mark on the upper side. They have smooth-edged forewings but their hindwings are wavy. These unusual beauties are acclaimed for their agility and speed.
