Somewhere in the midpoint of the thicket of Annapurna massif lies Annapurna III, facing Annpaurn I's east face. The third highest of the Annapurna family garnered attention of our Indian brothers and so in 1961 a team of three which included Mohan Kohli, Sonam Gyatso and Sonam Girmi, for the first time, attempted and succeeded the climb to the top via the Northeast face.
