    Beautifully set at the foot of Taboche, this quiet village is a gem. The valley in which Phortse is located has the highest number of Tahr, highest density of Snow Leopard signs and the highest density of Himalayan Monal in Khumbu. As such, short excursions around the village is highly recommended. And don't worry too much about Snow Leopard, chances are very low of encountering one and if you do, your stars are aligned so perfectly today that nothing could harm you.
