Lakpa Lama

Lakpa took us to ABC from Chomrung and back in a few days, and was the best possible guide. He found a way to ensure everyone could progress at their own pace, while being completely available for any questions or chats that came up during the hikes! He is also extremely funny and we loved inviting him when playing card games in the evening, as his company lights up any room! Thanks a lot Lakpa, you’re the best :)

Lakpa was such a fun guide helping us get to ABC. Very patient, funny and matches the energy. He pointed out the sights and temples along the way, made sure we got good prices for stuff, and helped out during dinners, lunches, and breakfast in the lodges. I hope I see this wonderful man soon!

Lakpa guided me and my dad (78yo) on a 4 days hike, aimed to get to Poon Hill. He came very recommended from my sister m, who traveled with him previously, and for a reason. He has demonstrated to be very effective at planning the trip, adapting it to changing conditions and, most important of all, to be very accomodating. We are an English family of four with two children aged 9 and 11. Lapka was our guide for eight days, walking the Mardi Himal trail to high camp. By the end of the week, we ALL wanted to take him home with us. He is a complete delight. Lapka is utterly professional and capable, he speaks excellent English, he thinks ahead of time, his organisation skills are formidable, he is flexible, knowledgeable, he played with the children (who loved him), he made us feel safe and well guided, we learnt about Nepal from him, he always knew when to join in with the family and when to give us space. He even, on our last day in Sidhing, went beyond the call of duty to set up an extra trek in search of honeybee nests on the cliffs overlooking the river (enlisting local people to help find them). Lapka made our trip very special - he is fun, clever and kind. We are currently planning our next adventure and we hope he will be part of it. The Dohertys

Lakpa was our guide for 10 days on the Annapurna circuit, taking us to both Tilicho lake and over Thorong La pass. He is a very experienced and relaxed guide, who fixed everything on our journey and provided us with a lot of useful information. Apart from that, he knows a lot about the region and hiking in high altitude, therefore always giving us a safe feeling during the trip. The most important part however is the fact that he is very kind and funny and we really enjoyed his company during the hikes and our nightly board games, thanks for everything and we’ll be back someday for another hike!

We were lucky enough to meet Lakpa and his colleagues during a 3-day short trek up to Chhomrong... they turned out to be not only excellent guides but above all people with heart, patience and the best friends to walk, dance and sing with... we couldn't ask for better companions to explore this wonderful country! We went to Langtang Valley with Lakpa and it was a fantastic trip. We had originally planned a different trek with him but once we needed to make some changes he was very quick to adapt and made great suggestions for route adjustments. We needed a porter and Lakpa has good connections and was quick to organize a fantastic porter (Pemba!). Communication with him before and during the trek was easy and clear. He organized really everything around the trip and told us in good time if we needed to know something. Most importantly Lakpa was not just a great guide who made us feel safe and well taken care of, but it was more like trekking with a friend. We would immediately book another trek with him!

We trekked to Poon Hill with Lakpa and had a fantastic trip. Lakpa was a great tour guide and told us to “keep walking, breathing and smiling” which was a great motto to have went walking up lots of steps! We went very safe and comfortable with him and would recommend.

We were group of 4 that did ABC trek. Lakpa was really friendly and mixed with the group as a part of the group. He is professional and caring. Also we benefited from his great photography skills. Lakpa always stayed with the last person in the group and helped them complete the trek for that day. Helped in the ice, rain, or difficult patches on the way.

My girlfriend and I went on a trek to Annapurna base camp with Lakpa. He is a fantastic guide! He knows a lot about nature and Nepali culture and will teach you a lot. Furthermore he is a professional guide who will always put your safety first. But most important, he is a very friendly and humble person who will take care of you. What can I say about this incredible trekking adventure with Lakpa. Short: It was fantastic. The whole group went through many ups and downs together (literally). No matter what difficulties and problems there were, Lakpa always found a solution. When we ran out of strength, he motivated us not to give up. He tried to fulfill all our wishes, whether fries for dinner and even the last beer in the village was collected together for the thirsty Germans. I personally could not have imagined a better guide by our side for this tour. Thank you very much for this experience 🫶🏼

I generally like to travel independently and so I was planning generally initially to do the Poon Hill trek as well. However, my contact recommended and contracted Lakpa as a guide for the 4N/5D trek. Lakpa is a real professional, very helpful, and caring. He was also good at motivating me to continue especially in two cases where I otherwise would have given up - at the steep stairs to Ulleri and the ones to Poon Hill peak for the sunrise. It's my first time in Nepal, with an organized trip. Lakpa accompanied us for 3 days on an Annapurna trek. I believe that every experience is never forgotten if it is accompanied by competent, helpful and above all human people. This is the case of Lakpa who was able to make this experience complete, starting from the various explanations of the culture of the country, the environment that surrounded us, flora, fauna, traditions. Lakpa and I spent 18 days together on the Annapurna Circuit Trek in November 2018. He is very hardworking, professional, serious about his job yet also very humble and goes 'above and beyond'. Lakpa worked seamlessless with the trekking company, Devine International Explore & Treks, and our older more experienced porter, to coordinate a trekking experience which will stay with me forever. Lapka quickly became my friend and together with my porter, Rudra, we were a team - The Threemusketeers. We walked together. We tried to eat together as much as possible. We always played cards and drank tea or raksi together. Lapka's infectious beaming smile, good singing voice and youthful energy was a delight. As a solo female traveller, I felt completely looked after and supported, both by the trekking company and immediately by Lakpa. He's very friendly and chatty but also know when you might want some space or quiet time. Lakpa also coordinated well with other parties which we made friends with or he already knew along the way. After 18 days, I formerd a large network of friends all over the world. Many of us reunited in Pokara at the completion of the trek and later abroad. Lakpa knows the mountains very well and always keeps you abreast of weather changes, proposed alternatives, necessary precautions and traditional practices. We walked slowly, drank tea frequently, stopped often. My health and safety was his #1 priority. Lakpa is as memorable as the Himalaya themselves, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to all parties but especially those who are in their 20s/30s/40s and considering doing a solo trek. I still remember those 20 words of Nepali and hope to return very soon!

I went to Nepal 3 Times and each Time Lakpa was our guide. First for a little trek around Katmandou and later for a trek of 12 days in Langtang and Gausaikunda. Just awesome memories for my friends and I. All was prepared to feel confortable and enjoy the maximum. Lakpa is a young guide very Kind.
