Pride of Traksindo, the Traksindo Gompa was established in 1946 A.D with the help of locals and Tusi Rinpoche of Thupten Choling Monastery. The Monastery now accommodates around 70 monks and nuns in total providing them different classes on Buddhism, computers, and mathematics. The monastery works closely with the monastery of Thupten Choling and like every other monastery, you can spend time here if you want to. However, they do prefer pre-booking. You can call them at 038-690454. Also, if you are in the region during Buddha Jayanti or at Dawa Thonkpo (10th Day of the first month in Tibetan Calendar ), Traksindo gompa is must check out place.
