Just as you pass through the football ground on your left and the national park office on your right, you will come across two huge cages on the right side where various multi-colored pheasants are found. Inside these cages, there are two specific rooms where water and food essential for the pheasants are stored. Just as you gaze at those pheasants, do not forget to take a look at a small tree inside each cage adds beauty to the overall view. The pheasants found here are not the ordinary ones that you will see in various places. Their existence in this national park has a history. In 2048 A.D, one of the leaders in Switzerland gifted two pheasants (one golden and the other, silver) as a token of love to King Birendra, the beloved king of Nepal. In order for the public to enjoy the view of these mesmerizing pheasants, the king caged them in the Nagarjun National Park. Even though those particular pheasants have already died, their hybrids are found inside the cage even today. These species have a melodious sound, but they rarely appreciate human sounds. While a soft melody may attract them, loud music will have an opposite effect and hence, should be avoided around the cages.
