The Shiva Parvati Mandir is dedicated to Shiva, the god of generation and destruction, and his consort mountain-goddess Parvati. This three-tiered white temple houses white statues of Shiva and Parvati. You might know Shiva of being the macho god that has the ability to destroy the world with his third eye on his forehead, not to forget his destructive dance "Tandav". He is the same god in whose name young guns smoke weed on the day of Shivaratri festival. Shiva himself was an avid pot smoker. And he somehow had the beautiful Parvati as his wife, talk about beautiful ladies falling for bad guys. This temple is the only temple at Muktinath-Chumig Gyatsa which is purely Hindu. It is surrounded by four smaller temples. Clockwise, at the front left is the temple of Vishnu, the preserver of the universe; behind it there is the temple of Rama, the seventh incarnation of Vishnu; next to it the temple of Krishna, the eighth reincarnation of Vishnu and finally at the right the temple of Ganesh, son of Shiva and Parvati and the god of knowledge, wisdom & literature.
