Mring Tso Pond
Mring Tso Pond is an attraction in Upper Pisang, at about 3,270 m.

- Location
- Upper Pisang
- Altitude
- 3,270 m
You will come across this pond only if you take the upper trekking trail via Gyaru and Ngawal. Just before the ascent to Gyaru you will see this greenish pond amidst thick pine forests. The way the pond is located gives it a feel that it might have dropped right out of a fairytale scene. Spending some time here to rejuvenate your tired legs is a very good idea and at the same time, you will get to admire the ducks swimming in the pond. You will also notice that this lake is free from leaves and other debris. The reason? Supposedly birds clean off the leaves from the lake. Again, don't blame us if you don't see this action in person. And for your general knowledge, 'Tso' in Tibetan means pond and 'Mring' means turquoise.
