These are the ruins of an old palace which belonged to Kag Kher dynasty, a once powerful dynasty in Kagbeni that used to single-handedly control imports and exports that passed through the salt trade route. Since the town is at the confluence of trails from the north, south, east and west, the ancient kings who sat there could control and tax the exchange of grain from the south and wool and salt from the north. The rulers of Kagbeni made quite a fortune back then. Some parts of the remains are still well maintained some of them are still functional. Report back immediately to Honeyguide if you still happen to sense the power in what remains of the once 108 roomed Kag Kher.
