Fifteen Minutes before you reach Jiri, you are to go through a small settlement of Haat Dada.It is a small part of Jiri Town which once used to be a trade kingdom of western Nepal. And Haat Danda is where it all began for Jiri. It was here that back in the days the largest Farmer's market (that is what the word Haat means in Nepali) in all of Eastern Nepal was held, connecting the merchants all over Eastern Nepal and Tibet. However, Haat Danda is now more renowned for its hotels than farmer's market. Do strike up a conversation about the market that used to be held here with a local.
