This monastery is one of the most overlooked of the monasteries primarily because it is off the main trekking route. It is however considered to be as old as the monastery at Pangboche and Thame which means that it is one of the first monasteries to be constructed in Khumbu. It is a twenty minutes walk to this monastery from Phakding and it's frescoes and statues does exude of its 350 year old history; especially the central statue of Guru Padmasambhava has an antique charm about it.
