The first gompa you see on the trail is Diki Kalsang Gompa and it is worth a visit. The gompa is white in color and sits in between lush vegetation. Decorated with wall paintings and other equally beautiful statues of Buddha, this gompa is the first of many more gompas to come. This gompa was accidentally burnt down in December 1994, but recently rebuilt, it luckily escaped further damage in 1995 when a devastating landslide swept through Bagarchap.
